When selecting a brush, you can do it in one of two ways. The first way is to select a brush from the list of shortcut brushes on the left side of the program. Here, you can keep 9 brushes on hand for quick use. The number to the left of the brush title coordinates to the numbers on your keyboard as hot keys. Use the tabs beneath the shortcuts to select banks of quick brushes.
The second way is to click on an arrow to the right of the shortcuts. This pulls up the full lists of ArtSets. If you would like to assign a brush to the shortcut, click the black arrow in the column that you wish to use. This opens a dialog box where you can select an ArtSet from the list on the left.
Once selected, there is a brief description on the bottom of the dialog box. All of the brushes of that ArtSet are shown on the right side of the dialog box, including a thumbnail preview.
Click on the brush that you wish to use.
If you cannot find a specific brush, you can use the search tool at the top of the dialog box. Here, you can also manage your favorite brushes for quicker access.
