TwistedBrush User Guide

Overview of the Brush Shortcut Panel

Brush Shortcut PanelThe brush shortcut panel is the primary way to quickly select brushes for use in painting. In some screen resolutions and in some TwistedBrush editions, the number of brushes shown may be reduced to conserve on screen space.

The highlighted brush is the brush that is currently selected and, therefore, will be the brush that is applied during painting.

The numbers 1 - 9 along the left-hand side are hot keys that can be used to quickly select a brush.

The little picture displays the stroke that is made by the brush on that line and helps make identification quicker.

The text is the brush name.

Arrows on the right-hand side indicate additional options. Clicking on the arrow will display the full brush selection dialog with the current ArtSet and brush highlighted. This is the primary way you select a new brush. Clicking on an already selected brush will also display the brush selection dialog.

Banks B1 - B6 can be found along the bottom in some screen resolutions and TwistedBrush editions. These give quick access to 6 sets of shortcut brushes, bringing the total number of brushes that are available for quick access to 54! Clicking on one of these tabs will switch to a different bank of 9 brushes.

The brushes you select from the ArtSets are remembered in the brush shortcut panel. As you work, you can easily construct shortcuts of the brushes you are using as a normal part of your workflow.
