ArtSet: A collection of presets. An ArtSet can hold up to
60 presets.
Brush Category: The type of artist tool. These include pastels, oils, markers, pencils, stampers, crayons, blenders, and palette knives.
Brush Effects (or effects): Dynamic modifications to a
basic brush that can change any attribute of the brush over time. There are
nearly 200 different effects that can be applied to brushes, including jitter, 3D, color randomizer, and burst.
Brush Variation: The specific type of artist tool within the
category, like the type of pastel--either fine, soft, regular, coarse,
et cetera.
Filter: An automated transformation that works on the
entire image. These include blur, contrast, emboss, bump, bevel, zigzag, elliptical, and warp.
Mask: A protective covering over part of the image. In TwistedBrush, a
mask is represented with a checkered pattern.
Preset: A saved group of settings for a brush. Normally, a
preset holds all of the brush and color settings for an individual brush. At the time the
preset is saved, however, it can be flagged to save only the color or only the brush
settings. A preset is represented with a marble icon in the ArtSet area. A
colored icon means the preset contains both brush and color information. A gray
icon mean the preset contains only brush information with no color information. A flat-color icon means the preset contains just color information. A white
icon with an "S" character indicates the preset is a script brush.
Script: A recorded series of actions (i.e., Brush strokes, image
manipulations, and filters) that can be saved to file and played back.
Script Brush: A recorded series of actions (i.e., Brush strokes,
image manipulations, and filters) that can be tied to a brush and placed on the
paper with a click of the mouse button.
